The Underground Supper Club: where delicious food meets unique location and relaxed atmosphere.

Originally named The Basement Galley Supper Club, then trainee-lawyer, Tom Fothergill, and his flatmate, Chef Alex Cooper, set out to bring friends and strangers alike together over dinners in their flat in Brixton, London in 2011. Several years on, the project became a company in its own right and with flagship dinner and brunch events on a 1969 London Underground carriage in Walthamstow, London.

Chef Alex Cooper is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu School, Paris, training under some of France’s top chefs. Alex has worked at two Michelin Star Sketch in, London and double AA Rosette wining Rufflets in St Andrews, Scotland. He was consultant chef for Clapton's restaurant start-up Rootdown, now heading up the culinary side of the Underground Supper Club.

Now having taken a step back from active kitchen duties Tom Fothergill is the company’s level-headed sounding board and source of advice, drawing on considerable professional experience: he read economics at the University of St Andrews before commissioning into the Royal Engineers. and is now civilian again currently working as an Associate at an international corporate law firm in Jersey.

We are passionate about serving amazing food and giving people the opportunity to enlarge their personal and business networks. We carefully place people around the dinnertable so that you are equally as likely to have fun talking to people you came with, or strangers who came alone. Through the The Underground Supper Club Alex and Tom seek to share, develop and foster a passion for food in London and beyond.
